Tennis

'Love' is in the air.

Tennis is a full-body workout, and encourages teamwork and communication. The CSSC offers multiple recreational Tennis League formats in Calgary, including doubles and singles. Grab a teammate or sign-up as an individual, because it's time to cause a 'racket.'

After your game, meet up with your teammates and other players to enjoy exclusive food and drink specials at one of the CSSC's many Sponsor Bars around Calgary.

League Length
  • Spring, Summer: 8-weeks

  • Fall: 5-weeks

All teams play once a week on the day they select when registering.

Typical Game Times
  • Evening Leagues: 7pm to 10pm

While our leagues are self-officiated, there is an Event Coordinator onsite to help manage equipment, time and scores. Matches consist of a single set, 40-minutes in length, and bookings are typically 90 minutes long.

These leagues are 'double opponent,' meaning you get double the fun: you get to play two matches each night against two different opponents.

Singles

Games are played 1 on 1 with no specific gender requirements.

Doubles - Co-ed

Games are played 2 on 2 with at least one female player on the court.

Doubles - Open

Games are played 2 on 2 with no specific gender requirements.

Divisions are based on the experience and skills of a team - not on their competitive behaviour! No matter what skill level you register for, all players are expected to play with a 'fun-first, winning-second' attitude.

If you have any questions about the different skill levels or where to place yourself, just call us!

Recreational

This division is for teams who are newer to the sport, or teams that consist of a mix of experienced and inexperienced players. Some players may still be learning the rules of Tennis, meaning the flow of the game will not always be natural. If both of the main players are experienced and skilled, then the team should move up to a higher level if available.

Using the USTA National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP), players in this division should fall in the 1.5 - 3.0 range.
