Pickleball

It's a big dill.

CSSC Pickleball is an action packed sport that combines elements of Badminton, Tennis and Ping Pong. It is a low impact/high energy sport and the rules are very easy to learn, which makes it accessible to players of various ages and skill levels. These Calgary Pickleball Doubles Leagues are perfect for couples, friends, or family members looking to get active and have a lot of fun.

After your game, meet up with your teammates and other players to enjoy exclusive food and drink specials at one of the CSSC's many Sponsor Bars around Calgary.

View current Schedules and Standings

League Length
  • Winter, Spring, Fall: 9-weeks

  • Summer: 8-weeks

All teams play once a week on the day they select when registering.

Typical Game Times
  • Evening Leagues: 6pm to 10:30pm

  • Morning Leagues: 8am to 11am

While our leagues are self-officiated, there is an Event Coordinator onsite to help manage equipment, time and scores. Matches are best-of-three and bookings are typically 90-minutes to 2-hours long.

These leagues are 'double opponent,' meaning you get double the fun: you get to play two matches each night against two different opponents.

Doubles - Co-ed

Games are played 2 on 2 with at least one female player on the court.

Doubles - Co-ed - Masters

Are you 40+? Our Masters format is built for people 40 years of age or older! Games are played 2 on 2 with at least one female player on the court.

Doubles - Open

Games are played 2 on 2 with no specific gender requirements.

Divisions are based on the experience and skills of a team - not on their competitive behaviour! No matter what skill level you register for, all players are expected to play with a 'fun-first, winning-second' attitude.

Please note that the below divisions may not be offered every season or day. If you have any questions about the different skill levels or where to place yourself, just call us!

Recreational

This division is for teams who are newer to the sport, or teams that consist of a mix of experienced and inexperienced players. Some players may still be learning the rules of Pickleball, meaning the flow of the game will not always be natural. If both of the main players are experienced and skilled, then the team should move up to a higher level if available.

Recreational Plus

This division is for teams with mainly experienced Pickleball players. The flow of the game will be quicker than the Recreational division as there will be fewer stoppages and rule clarifications. Players can serve and return with accuracy, have more advanced Pickleball shot techniques, and the team is looking for more of a challenge than the Recreational level. Not all players in this division are highly skilled, but players are experienced and knowledgeable in the sport.
