REGISTRATION
DEADLINE NOW IN EFFECT
|
Please take note of the registration deadline of Thursday, September
16th, 2010. Prior to this deadline, all registrants are accepted
on a first-come, first-served basis; the closer to September 16th that you get your registration in, the better your chances are of making it
into the league of your choice. After September 16th, if we
require registrants, we will advertise any spots that are available. |
Cancellation Policy |
In order to receive a full refund, cancellations must be
submitted 2 business days prior to the registration deadline applicable to
that season. After this time, no player or team will be eligible for a full
or partial refund or credit. |
General Description |
Hoop it up this season in a
CSSC Basketball league. Put your jump shot, lay-up and defensive skills into
use on the hard court. It’s a 5 on 5 game, with a minimum of two females on
the floor at all times. We offer Recreational, Recreational Plus and Intermediate
divisions. All games have a Coordinator present but you are expected to call
your own fouls and be responsible for your own play. We encourage you to play
with a ‘fun-first’ attitude at our various medium and large sized gyms at
schools located throughout the city. After your game, meet-up with your
teammates and other CSSC players while enjoying exclusive specials at one of
our many Sponsor Bars around
Calgary. |
Who Can Play? |
Adults aged 18 and older may
join any of our Basketball leagues. The levels offered this Winter include
Recreational, Recreational Plus, and Intermediate. We welcome full teams,
small groups (5 or more players but not a full team), friends (2-4 players)
and individual registrations. Small group, friends and individual registrations
are combined with other similar registrants to form a team that remains
together for the duration of the season. Click here for more info. |

BASKETBALL DIVISION DESCRIPTIONS
|
Level
|
Description |
Recreational |
Never
played? Just started playing? Teams who register for this level should, as a
whole be inexperienced. If you have more than two players who played varsity
basketball in high school on your team do not register for Rec. |
Recreational
Plus |
If
you've played at the Rec level for 2 or more seasons and finished in the top
half of the standings then this is the league you should register for. A team
who has an even mix of novice and experienced players should play here. |
Intermediate |
If you
would say that 75% of your teammates played on their high school varsity team
or beyond, you should play here, or even if your team may not have the
'paper' credentials, but you just know the team is good, this is the league
for you! |
The
above divisions are created based on skill level and not on competitive
behaviour. All SSC players are expected to play with a ‘fun-first, winning
second’ attitude. The SSC may move your team up or down a division based on
seasonal results. |
